Bama Name:
Born: 1976
Lives: Mossman

I was born, grew up and live in Mossman and that is where I went to school. I have also lived at Burungu (China Camp) north of Mossman. This is the ancestral tribal land of my grandfather and great grandmother and it provides the inspiration for my art work. I am now married and have three beautiful children. My husband is Swiss so I have had the
opportunity to also live in Switzerland and to experience the Swiss culture and lifestyle.
I have worked as an artist at Yalanji Arts – Mossman Gorge for three years and during that time have taken part in many workshops in printmaking (screen printing, monoprinting and etching) wood carving, papier mache, ceramics, weaving and jewellery making.
My ‘dream’ is to build a family home on our tribal lands in Burungu (China Camp) and to eventually live there with my family and extended families.
My art work has been exhibited in the following shows:
- Cairns Indigenous Art Fair - 2012 (Cairns Cruise Terminal)
- Manjal Dimbi – Rainforest inspired works by Yalanji Artists of Mossman Gorge – 2013 (Canopy Art Space – Cairns)
