My Story: |
 |
Hello my name is Betty. I am from the Kuku Yalanji Rainforest people.
Today I live in a little place called Lowmead just north of Bundaberg with my husband of 37 years.
Painting has given me outlet to vent my energies in a positive way, where I can share it with yourself and your loved ones.
I grew up in up in Daintree where I worked as a housemaid at the age of 13-16 from there I went to Herberton where I did nursing for 3 years, moved to the Peninsula Governessing, then moved to Cairns where I was a waitress and did some kitchen hand work.
My father was a full blood Aboriginal by the name of Reuben Missionary (he was taken away and his name was changed to Reuben Edwards) I married Phillip Minniecon and had nine children. I also care for foster children and my family.
